Dinnington's most iconic alumnus in fact only attended the school for a matter of weeks, in between his education at Pitsmoor in Sheffield, and further education at a school somewhere in, or near to Paradise Square by what is now Sheffield Cathedral. Peace is one of England's most notorious murderers, and is the subject of many stories in popular culture. A local newspaper quotes 'Nurtured in Dinnington, assassin executed at Leeds.'
